Ik weet wat mij motiveert

Wat motiveert jou?

Als trainer, motivator en spreker laat ik mij leiden door mijn motto:#Justdostuff

Het staat voor ja zeggen tegen nieuwe ervaringen, nieuwe mensen ontmoeten en genieten van een leven hier en nu met actie.

In mijn werk is het mijn doel om mensen te motiveren om de ondernemer in hun eigen leven te zijn. Jij bent degene die belt, jij zegt ja en jij bent ook de enige die jezelf kan motiveren om te doen wat je leuk vindt.

Ik geef veel energie en creëer een open sfeer zodat iedereen echt zichzelf kan zijn. Hieronder lees je meer over mijn persoonlijke ontwikkeling en reis.

Een moment dat mijn levenshouding compleet veranderde.

Als student werd ik gevraagd om lid te worden van de European Study Research Committee van mijn studievereniging. Twijfelend of ik het moet doen, besluit ik JA te zeggen.

Waarom? Ik geloofde gewoon dat het een geweldige tijd zou worden.

 

Samen met 25 studenten zijn we begonnen met het organiseren van de onderzoeksreis naar Athene, Griekenland.

 

Bij het laatste bedrijf gebeurde het, het gelukkigste moment van mijn leven.

Hier zaten we te luisteren naar een toespraak van de manager van Nokia en ik wilde ook een toespraak houden voor de groep. Ik stond op en begon iedereen te vertellen hoe geweldig de weken samen waren, de diepe momenten en vooral de vrienden die we hadden gemaakt. Ik legde uit dat het voor mij, door JA te zeggen tegen deze commissie, me zoveel vreugde en geluk had gebracht. Ik motiveerde hen om hetzelfde te doen, ja te zeggen tegen deze nieuwe ervaringen en eindigde met de woorden:

Op dat moment huilde ik, omdat ik me het gelukkigst van mijn leven voelde. Na een paar seconden stilte begon iemand te applaudisseren en dit resulteerde in een groot geluksmoment met tranen. Zelfs de HR-manager begon me te omhelzen. 

 

Sindsdien leef ik met dat motto altijd in gedachten.

Journalen

Every morning is the start of a new day and I want to make sure I use the maximum out of the day. That is why I take a few moments throughout the day to write a journal. It helped me really well to: - Find more structure in my days and to build a routine ⚒️ - To motivate myself to start the day well, to think positively, and to give myself that extra push 🔆 - To put my emotions and thoughts on paper to think and put my mind to rest 💭 - To take control over my own life by identifying my own behavior 🎮 I recommend everyone to do this. Sociale interactie

People would describe me as enthousiastic and social. My spirit animal would be a dog, a golden retriever. As I also look like the animal with my curly blond hair. You can find me at any social event, either participating or organising, at the coffee machine but also standing in front of groups. Having this interaction and the possibility to inspire others fills my energy bar. With this comes an open and inclusive vibe, I include anyone in a conversation, let people meet eachother, and create that safe space for people around me. I always search for interaction. Fysieke gezondheid

A great part of my week includes physical activity and an healthy lifestyle. This includes a routine, opening up the body, work-outs, fun, and good food A routine is really good for your mental and physical well-being. I try to keep my routine, however, I also know when to let go to also create a balance for fun and meeting friends Opening up the body includes excercises like stretching and yoga. I often combine this with a bit of meditation. My work-outs recently include four times a body workout in either the gym or in a calisthenics park. I believe concentrated and core workouts complement eachother. For fun, but it is an workout often as well, is longboarding and beachvolleybal for me. It includes a social, game and sporty aspect which I love. Lastly, my diet is mostly vegetarian and protein high. It gives me good energy to eat enough nutrients throughout the day, however, I keep room for beers with my friends. For sporty videos, check out the reels section of my instagram page!

I love to experience new moments. That is why I say YES to very random activities to motivate myself, to meet new people and to experience joy! A few examples to explain my lifestyle are: - A few months ago, I was randomly being asked to be the mascot of Donar for one time. Well, see for yourself in this video. - I participated in the Paris Marathon together with friends of mine on the 3rd of April 2022 with 3 months of training - When I was on my exchange to Indonesia, the movie 'De Oost' was being shot there. A few weeks after my arrival, on my birthday even, I played in the movie with a few friends! It still and will forever bring me happiness to live like this! To read the original #justdostuff story. Blijf ontdekken

Exploring means for me: Discovering new places, new hobbies, new music, new skills, and not to forget new people. I went on my exchange to Indoniesia. This was a great exploration to get to know myself better, other cultures, and to explore new places on this planet. I recommend for anyone to go to this beautiful country. On the 1st of June 2021, I started with longboarding, it is awesome to learn new skills and to enjoy the many new social contacts I gained! Music brought me so much happiness, friends and places which I am so thankful for. Big shoutout to Drum and Bass, Liquicity and the community. I explore new skills by participating in all kinds of workshops, being open, and by joining different courses. Exploring new people is for me the best motivation in the world. Levensstijl & Motivatie

Ervaring komt uit alle aspecten van het leven.

Na de middelbare school ben ik naar de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen gegaan om International Business te studeren. Ik heb echter geleerd dat ervaring niet alleen van school komt. Het komt voort uit actief zijn, jezelf opleiden en leren van anderen. 

Hieronder beschrijf ik mijn ervaringen naast mijn Bachelor in International Business en mijn Master in Business Administration - Strategic Innovation Management.

Coachen

Understanding yourself is important, however, you don't have to do that on your own. I engaged in a coaching track at High Potential Academy. During this track, especially the one-on-one sessions helped me with the right questions being asked and the excercises since they added to understanding myself even better. Especially one excercise was really rememberable. This was called the 360-feedback. I asked my friends, colleagues and family key questions about me and eventually I was left with a beautiful list of answers that describe me. The image shows some of these descriptional words! Marathon van Parijs 2022

The moment I signed up for the Marathon. A drive started flowing through my body. I felt in full control throughout the training period and it applied really well to my running skills. This motivated me well together with the social factor. I trained and ran together with my friends. Mijn NEE vinden

Finding your YES also means that you need to understand you own NO. For many people, including me, it is difficult to find the sweet spot where you feel at your best. During the past year, I have become better and better at defining my own no. However, it feels rough sometimes saying no to friends, colleagues and significant others. I have learned to understand that saying no is choosing for yourself rather than saying no to the other perons. Recently, I wrote a post on this struggle with recent insecurities.
